Project Management
PM310 - Project Management Overview
Project Management is always a balancing act, across multiple axes. Juggling the goals of the project against the people impacted, the budget allocated and the inevitable deadlines can be intimidating. As a result, project management is part science and part art.
In this short course, we’ll explore many aspects of project management, with the goal being to provide some practicable ideas you can use to better manage projects in your organization. We will define concepts, walk you through a typical project, get some insight from subject matter experts and talk about the “secret sauce” that often gets missed: making sure all the stakeholders are on board and engaged.
While this course isn’t intended to fully prepare you to sit for the Project Management Professional certification, it will introduce many of the concepts that appear on that exam. More importantly, we hope you will be better prepared to lead or participate as a stakeholder in projects at your organization.
PM320 - Applied Psychology in PM
In effective Project Management, the project process must to be balanced with the human aspect of the project - your project team. Applied Psychology in Project Management is designed to help you better understand human behavior (including your own!) and apply that knowledge to better motivate project team members and other stakeholders, navigate team dynamics, and resolve conflict.
