Microgrid Architecture Primer

This 16-hour, course comprises twelve, two-hour classes and introduces students to the principles of microgrid architecture, including development, design, and operations. This course will introduce undergraduate students and mid-level professionals on military installations, as well as military personnel in tactical formations (battalion and brigade executive officers, communications officers, engineer officers) to the basic components of microgrids, the role of telecommunications and automation in the operation of microgrids, and the risks of cyber threats to microgrids. Learners will have an increased knowledge and understanding about the operating fundamentals and design of microgrids on a tactical basis. The course focuses on the basic skills and knowledge needed to establish, operate, optimize, and disassemble microgrids. (16 PDHs)
