The United States, China, and several other nations are facing commercial, geopolitical, and military complexities in the South China Sea that impact their relationships today. This course examines how and why the ever-changing dynamics could develop into flashpoints or escalate into kinetic conflicts in the South China Sea. Students can leverage lessons from the past and apply them to the present and the present.
